Junior Finance Assistant
Our Finance Assistants support day‑to‑day financial administration across a portfolio of early‑stage biotech clients. This is an entry‑level position ideal for someone beginning their career in accounting. The role reports to one of our Client Support Managers.
Required skills and experience:
• A keen interest in finance and accounting.
• Strong academic performance at GCSE/A‑Level & Degree (or equivalent).
• Motivation to pursue an accounting qualification (AAT, ACCA or ICAEW).
• Prior administrative experience desirable but not essential.
• Good working knowledge of Excel and Microsoft Office applications.
• Interest in early‑stage or high‑growth businesses, particularly within the life sciences sector.
Client Support Manager
Our Client Support Managers are responsible for the day-to-day relationship management of key clients, responding to all requests, and delivering all agreed finance services. This role reports to one of our Portfolio Finance Directors.
Skills and experience:
• ACA or ACCA Accounting qualification.
• Bachelor's degree (at least 2:1) from a good university.
• Experience of bio-techs is desirable, particularly of startup and growing ventures.
• Strong skills and experience with UK company audits, consolidated accounts, limited company statutory accounts, corporation tax returns and self assessment returns, including a good understanding of FRS102 and UK tax compliance.
• Experience of R&D tax credits, equity and share based payment accounting and admin, bank KYC checks and insurance management is desirable.
• A good level of experience with statutory record keeping and Companies House management.
• Strong Excel skills, including modelling and professional reporting.
Portfolio Financial Controller
Our proactive and dedicated Portfolio Financial Controllers are responsible for ensuring the highest quality of finance services are delivered to all our clients. The role has a focus on budget modelling and management account structure, design and delivery together with clients’ financial controls. This role reports to our CEO.
Skills and experience:
• ACA or ACCA Accounting qualification.
• Bachelor's degree (at least 2:1) from a good university.
• Several years’ experience in practice and managing client work.
• Significant industry experience working at the financial controller level.
• A keenness for systems and sound financial control environments.
• Strong Excel skills including modelling and professional reporting.
• A good ability in preparing consolidated group accounts and understanding FX accounting.
• Strong skills and experience with limited company statutory accounts and audits.
• Experience of the biotech sector, R&D tax credits and equity and share based payment accounting is desirable.
Portfolio Financial Director
Our Portfolio CFOs are responsible for ensuring the highest quality of finance services are delivered to all our clients. This role reports to our CEO.
Skills and experience:
• ACA or ACCA Accounting qualification.
• Bachelor's degree (at least 2:1) from a good university.
• Several years experience in practice and managing client work.
• Significant industry experience working at finance director level.
• Strong skills and experience with limited company statutory accounts, corporation tax returns and self-assessment returns, including a deep understanding of FRS102 and UK tax compliance.
• Experience of the biotech sector, R&D tax credits and equity and share based payment accounting is desirable.
• Strong Excel skills, including modelling and professional reporting.
